I came down the stairs and Tristen looked at me a little strange.

Then he walked this funny, kinda incognito circle around me.  Three times.

And then he finally asked me if I knew my sweater was on backwards. 

baahahahhaaa.  

so I wore my sweater backwards.  I liked it.  :)

DIY ~ Envelopes from Rag Mags

You know all those mags we buy and then toss in the recycle bin?  Well I was cruising the web, half watching/listening to the Oscars Sunday night, totally searching for something unrelated, and stumbled on an article on making envelopes out of magazines. {here} I think it's so sad that with all the technology of the last decade, it seems good old hand-written, snail-mail letter writing is becoming a lost art.  I've made it a goal to send a handwritten letter once a week, and what a cool envelope to send it in, right?  I grabbed some mags that have needed to be thrown out for days (more like months) and tried it out.

I used stuff I had in the junk (craft) drawer:

Tristen bought red, yellow, & white electrical tape to tape his fingers for basketball.
{ya, i know.  i don't get that either but whatever.  i think it's "cool" or something}
the colored tape {and the durability of it} was perfect for this project

I also found some double sided tape, and up at the top of the pic is Post It tape,
I ended up using the post it tape to create an address field

of course.  I didn't happen to have any scotch tape, which would have worked just fine too,
though I think the colored tape adds a cool touch

i folded a random page to get a "pattern"
and then laid it out next to pages i thought might work to see where the photo would fall
i liked this one

i cut small pieces and placed them onto the middle section

turned it over.
and lifted the top flap up, so it won't get taped down 

and folded the tape over to bind the sides

fold in the top corners to create an envelope look

there it is.  cool, right!

i totally dug it!  so i found another page, and did it again

this time i used heart stickers to bind the edges

cute!  so.  i made another one!

i had small, round sparkly stickers, so i bound the edges with them

and then i made this one too!
for this one, i used the double sided tape, on the inside, so no tape lines at all

and then.
i went snizbatcrazy.
i couldn't stop making em!
look at all the letter writing i have to do!


stick a white address label, or the white post it strip i just happened to have
(see a few of the above that have it?)
on the front to create a space to write the address

magazine envelopes!
too cool!
right?

Miss Katy Perry

I am taking it very seriously that I avoided the near devastation of losing all my phone pics last week by getting all my photos backed up and on my laptop.  I'm coming across so many fun old memories... 

Katy Perry.  I'm loving the girl right now.  Her new song has me fist pumping.  "This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take from me. Noooo!"  Aaaah!  I LOVE it.  So maybe it's a little public and personal.  And a dig at the Ex.  Well, it was Adele that said it at the Grammy's:  Where do most of all great lyrics and songs come from?  "A Rubbish Relationship, and we've all had them".  Well said. 

So last summer I wasn't your biggest Katy fan, but I liked her.  I had her album and it was damn catchy.  I sang along.  And when I got offered free tickets to a suite for her show, I took em.  And she was AWESOME!  Really! She was personable, talked directly to the crowd, and gave a very fun show.  Kudos to Katy!

Neon At Target

Friday night we were out and about and stopped in Target to browse.  Neon is EVERYWHERE and Target is no exception.  Fun to have a inexpensive place to stock up on the trend.

And then I saw the swimsuits.

Oh how I long for Summer..

Wouldn't a neon suit look FAB on a tan?

I had to hard reset my phone this past week (@&#$)!^!!*#($@), 

and the photos on my SD card are now all intermixed with pictures I'm taking now,

and I swear.to.god, when I went to upload the pics to my computer, THIS photo from last summer was smack dab in the middle of all the neon swimsuits.  

This is how sun bathing is done when you live in a place where you're lucky if the sun comes out even.in.the.summer and when it does, it's only about 75 degrees.  You open all the blinds, move the couch smack dab in front of the window, turn the heat up in the house, bake it to 80+ degrees, close your eyes,  and couch bathe.

M's Week In An Insta

stopped in at the PDX airport

something way cool about being in the center of coming and going

even when you're just there to eat and unsuccessfully wish yourself onto a Hawaiian Air plane

and so was his momma

we braved the mountain and a ton of snow and traveled over it for a weekend get away to my hometown

i took a drive into town 

i stalked the neighborhood i grew up in and snapped lots of pics
this one is of the dried up "canal" (summer irrigation for the farming lands)
behind the house i grew up in
i miss those mountains.  really really really bad.  

this darn wheat grass caused havoc on my sinuses throughout my entire childhood
and still does, every time i go "home"

i wished at a stop light that that plane on the back of the truck was mine and i could fly anywhere i wanted
anytime i wanted.

had breakfast with my momma

and then the pics on my phone took a nose dive as the week got busy, 

and all that was left, were these:

i decided i'd send rhett a pic of myself.
i tried for something funny

and then tried for something slexy

and then tried to shoot a smooch

and then decided i wanted to let him know he deserved a wink.

and then i didn't send any of them.
