This week I have become officially obsessed with pinning.
I thought I knew what that was.
but I didn't.  I can't stop
pinning gorgeousness, after funniness, after yumminess.
I think it's kind of a sickness.

These are a few of my pins that, to me, are just out of this world.
HotDiggityDamn.
They make me say
Wow.

Interesting.  Eye Catching.  Beautiful.

Have a fab day, k.

ps. i discovered this party yesterday
and proceeded to click on every damn link.
i found so many fantastic pins, pinners, and boards.
if you're looking for a highly wonderful way to waste time,
i suggest you head here.
amazing.

The Skinny On The Mini

my latest mini skirt turned shirt obsession

cardigan: Nordstroms/rings: old flea market finds/earrings: BCBG
belt: gifted/shoes: gifted/bag: Ellington/Jeans: Old - Buckle/
Shirt-actually a Skirt: Ross $3.99
bracelet: gift via the NY Blog ExchangeAmanda @ Raising Miss Mommy
"the fluff" {as so wonderfully called by Dusty}: all mine.

I love a tube top,
and I'm totally loving converting cheap little mini skirts into shirts
This little black ruffly skirt turned shirt was fun and flirty and I loved it.

I have to admit, I felt a little self-conscious for a quick minute about this look, and ya- I see that tummy too.  But I thought about it for a minute.  And I felt how cute I felt, despite it.  And then I remembered the picture I'm about to show you, from this post, written by Amanda at Raising Miss Mommy ~ the same darling that sent me the bracelet I was wearing that very night  ~  and.....I just decided...

I'm a Tiger.
I've earned my stripes.
I'll show them if I want too.

My New Leopard Mini ...

i wore it with my pearls.

i wore it while i rode a pig

i wore it with holey jeans.

i wore it with the man's sweats.

my new leopard mini skirt.
that I'm wearing as a Shirt.
$3.99 ~ Ross

ps.  my photographer has left for spring break.
please bear with me on the in-the-mirror, silly, self-portraits.

Now back to the skirt / errr, shirt.  Do you, or do you not LOVE.

Seriously.  I'm going to go buy up Ross's $3.99 wayyy to inappropriate mini's
and wear them as tubes.  I loove a tube.
And these are Perfect conversions.
Don't you think?

I'll be back on Wednesday with a black ruffly skanky skirt I turned into a shirt,
to show you how I wore it out Friday night.
You will be a believer.  Pinky.  Swear It.  ;)

Perfect Virgin Margarita

I am looving this virg'o margarita recipe.  I'm not sure where I found it.  Somewhere on the great ol' web. It's tasty and has a serious tangy kick!  It's MUY YUMMY. Make it, put some good ol tequila in it if you like it, and Enjoy!  ;)

  • Lime wedge (optional)
  • Course salt or coarse sugar (optional)
  • 1 6-ounce can frozen limeade concentrate
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened grapefruit juice
  • 25 to 30 small ice cubes
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Lemon or Lime slices (optional)

  1. If desired, rub rims of Margarita glasses with lime wedge, dip rims into a shallow dish of coarse salt or sugar and shake of excess.  Set aside.
  2. In a blender, combine limeade concentrate, orange juice, and grapefruit juice.  Blend until smooth.  If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring.
  3. Poor in margarita glasses, garnish with citrus slices if desired, and ENJOY!

cheers!

It's Insta Friday

someone went to see American Idol live and held that poster up, just for me
so the world could know that indeed, this girl in Portland <3's JLo

ever tried twist and pout lip balm balls.
 simply the best
if you are ever fortunate to come across them.  Do not hesitate.  Get one.
anyone tried this?  I want to
picked this up while out and about thrifting.
it's already speaking to me, big time.
The Big Secret?
"Say Yes more"

"Say yes more.  The people without passion are the ones who always say no,
But the happiest people are the ones who understand that good things occur
when one allows them too"
I saw this while at the department store and coveted it really really bad

Much to Tristen's despair, I wore it around the store the entire time I shopped...
but then had to snap this pic for a memory and put back the amazing floppy hat
that I want so very badly,
but would likely hardly ever wear :(
these pretty ladies were $2.50 at the good ol' thrift store.
yes.  two dollars and fifty cents.  I totally got them.

and wore them with about every outfit I could
don't you just love the painted wall murals at mexi restaurants?  I do.
i had the best taco salad of my whole entire life.
{no offense to my momma's taco salads, which rocked my whole life too,
but this one was Extremely good}

and then.  a miracle happened.

Tristen let me take a picture of us.
as you can see, he wasn't exactly thrilled, but what the hey.
it counts and now it's documented.

SlamBam, Thank you Jesus.
Finally.
It's Friday.

I'm taking T up the snowy mountain this fine Friday,
to drop him with his dadd-o for his Spring Break.
I'm a little nervous about it, for some reason..

Please say a quick wish up to heaven that I survive the drive,
if you think of it.

I'm finally gonna post the recipe for
a tasty virg' margarita recipe that I'm obsessed with.
I'm not gonna schedule it.
You'll know I survived if it's up tomorrow.

Is That A Pumpkin On Your Head?

I seriously got my feelings hurt bad this morning.  I'm walking down the stairs, out the door, to the car, off to drop my boy at school and on the road to work, and Tristen gave me his famous stare down.  I just stared back and waited for it.

"So mom.
Are you trying to look like you have a pumpkin on your head or something?"

Does this look like a Pumpkin to You?

Maybe a upside down Birds Nest...

 But seriously.  A pumpkin??

WHATEVS.

That is called a teased up bun my boy.
I'm saving this for you, so you can remember what NOT to say to a girl.

and ps.  i have no idea why i only have one earring on.

Could Friday get here any faster this week?  Seriously.

Best Thrift Find Of My Life. Ever. Period.

I have simply been dying over this.  As in completely gushing over it.  I'm absolutely positive that the art you see above these words will be found in my house the day I die.  i.e.  This is a life time keeper.

Crazy thing: I didn't even know what I had when I found it.

I was out thrifting around, looking for frames for my jewelry boards, and immediately fell in love with the frame.  It was unique, had great detail, was banged up by time- which I say is character that you can't recreate- and I bought it.

My poor now-treasure sat up against my wall just like this a month (or two)..

and then one spacey day, I stared at it for a minute.  And then two minutes.

and then examined it closer.

How Weird!  Cool?  What is this? Is this picture painted right onto the glass??

I turned the frame around...

and realized that dang.  all that is~ IS painted glass.

so I threw it on a stand for a better look.

and put a light behind it..

and Voila.

How flippin cool is THAT!

the front of the glass
the back of the glass

see the arrow pointing to the "hole" in the paint..

..this is the back of the glass, where the paint is scuffed.

Is this called something?  How the heck was this done?  Layered painting?  Layered backwards painted painting?  I have no clue.  I could've researched it, but I haven't. *embarrassed*  sorries.

Do you know?

Here's another look at the front and back,
side by side.. it's just a piece of glass..

I completely looove it.
It's been on the same stand, on proud display since.

And I give you...

..The Best Thrift I ever have had!

eighteen dollars and ninety-nine cent smackers.
Steal!
