the day my eyebrows got screwed & the day I got 7 followers

my poor jacked eyebrows

Thank You.  To every last one of you who commented and offered support during our crisis yesterday.  I know it's a bit laughable, almost.  Except for it was Not.  My poor poor Bird.  It was after all your sympathetic comments {that I so wish I could share with him except for, of course, I cannot because he would kill me for posting about it on my blog}, and my own reflections on what happened to me a couple months ago when my eyebrows got jacked by wax, and how I refused to look in the mirror for a week afterwards, that I realized that what my poor little bird needed was some good old fashioned empathy.

I told him how I would be so mad too, and that I was so sorry, and I made an emergency effort to get him into my hairstylist, and we broke out the blow dryer, and different kinds of gel, and finally broke the madness with some humor when I told him we could make him a shirt to wear that said "My Mom Did It".  Finally, he broke and just accepted that it sucked, but it will grow back, and... well, it just sucks.

... and in other news, this weekend something happened that has made me want to share with you a special little day that happened a few months ago... The day I got 7 followers.

Seven Whole Followers.

My little sissy, who was living with me at the time, came home and said "Sis, I read your blog today and you have SEVEN followers!!!!!"  and I said "I knoooooooow!!!"  and then I did a little happy dance, right there in my kitchen.  And this weekend, that little "follower" count turned over to "200", and I thought hot damn.  I have 200 followers. BOOMSHAKALAKA!!

You may find me a little ridiculous, and you may think in your head, well.. about time!  That ain't ish!  Well, to me, it IS.  Someday's I can't believe anyone would find my blog interesting enough to follow along, let alone that 200 people would click to follow it, cause I have no delusions about this little blog of mine.  Maybe someday it will offer something truly inspirational, maybe someday it'll show you sights you've never seen, maybe as in my dreams, I will become a DIY queen, and you'll love to see what the latest thing it is that I've crafted; but for now, it's just a documentation of my life.  And way too many photos.

... isn't it funny tho, how knowing someone found you interesting enough to "follow" literally can make you smile?  I will be honest with you though.  What fills me with real, pure joy is the messages I'll randomly get from my family about certain blog posts that made them smile, or laugh, or cry.  THAT is what this blog is all about, for me.  The extra cream on top is all of you that read along, and comment, and have made me discover how Real the "blogging world" is.  Thanks for reading, every single one of you.  Cause as proven yesterday, you enlighten me, and motivate me, and teach me.  And I thank you.

I saw once that a girl posted on Instagram that she got 400 followers, and then 10 minutes later she updated with 399 followers cause someone unfollowed her after her post.  How Rude!  Lol  But, if that happens to me, oh's well's, cause I was over the moon to have 7, and it'll take a lot of unfollowing to get me back there.  ;)

And with that.. I'll sign off of this short novel and leave you with this...

my kiddo, on his first day of sixth grade, with the hair cut that made him cry.
For FORTY-FIVE minutes.

granted, the photo doesn't show off the parts where
obviously you only got half a hair cut,
and we did style it well, but, that said,
it's not thaaat bad Bird!  ;)

His hair cut doesn't look bad at all! I was expecting something much MUCH worse.

His hair looks fine! Not too bad at all.

Glad you were able to fix it up for him for the first day of 6th grade. I remember how tragic everything was at that age. It was no fun.

Your totally awesome and should have a bkazillion followers because you are you. that's why people think you're the shit! And birdies hair.. Well let him know that it's not the hair that make him. Tell him that he could start a new fad with half ass haircuts.

I, like you, think that 200 followers is awesome. I still get excited each time I see someone new following along. Slow and steady wins the race!
