I am.  And I have.  

And here's what happened to me:

I got frustrated and cried.  

Well, I didn't really cry but I got sick and tired of it.  Even when I did find a coupon for 40 cents off something I might actually need, I never seemed to have the darn coupon with me when I actually buying the item. So I Quit.  BUT.  I have found an AWESOME alternative to Sunday Paper Coupon Clipping that saves me money on things I actually want and need.

Today's Tippy Tuesday Tip

As with almost everything in life, Purposeful Inquires is what gets you somewhere ~ and in this case, saves you $$$.  And I'm talking Dollar signs.  Not penny signs.  

Be Specific.

Go to Google.

Type in "Michael's coupon"

"Macy's coupon"

"Kohl's coupon"

"Hallmark coupon"

"Safeway coupon"

"Victoria Secret coupon"

Last week I had to run to Hallmark to buy my boss an "oops, I forgot it was her birthday today gift".  Before I ran over to Hallmark, I jumped online, googled "Hallmark Coupon", and printed myself a $5 off $10 purchase.  Bam!  My $18 gift cost me $13.

I needed a new shirt and was going to stop in Macy's so I jumped on Google and typed in "Macy's Coupon".  Macy's website itself had a $10 off $25 dollar purchase coupon.  BooYah!  I printed it and found a shirt on sale for $29 and paid $19 for it.  

Last night my son needed socks so we planned to run into Kohl's.  Before I left the house, I jumped online and printed myself a 20% off coupon from Kohl's website.  Snap! Saved myself $3 on his socks.  

I just saved $18 dollars [!!!!!!] 

And it was on items I needed and was going to buy, period.  Rather than spending my time trying to save 40 cents here, 75 cents there [not that that isn't great, it just hasn't worked efficiently for me], I am concentrated on saving $5 here, $10 there, on Purposeful Purchases.  

Related Tip: don't shy from registering with stores and get on their email list.  Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl's, Shutterfly, Victoria Secret, etc, etc, will send Money Saving Coupons right to your email.  No google search required.  All you do is click and print.  Gotta love it, right? Now go save yourself some money honey!
