Saturday Scavenging

Scavenger Center

My boy jumped into bed with me this morning and begged to go check out a "great sale" he had found listed on Craigslist with lots of "Really Cool Stuff!".  He didn't recognize it, but his "great sale" was a Flea Market.  I had seen the ad before, and had always been curious to see what it was all about, so we jumped in the car and made the trek across town to check it out.

As Flea Market's go - it was a classic.  A lot of randomness, packed into an old run down building, with interesting characters peddling treasures from Raggedy Ann collections, to collections of items I'm sure had been found at garage sales and brought here to be displayed hap hazardously for the browsing amusement of treasure hunters.

There was a lot of crap.  And by "a lot of crap", I mean not just a lot of stuff, but a lot of Crappy things. But we did find some Treasures, and we saw places we've never seen as we followed Google Maps down streets we'd never been down.  It was a cheap, fun, mom/son outing.   I highly recommend finding yourself a Flea Market and heading down for some entertainment!  You never know what you might find...

Flea Market Glamour

~ Our Treasures ~

This is Unique.  It will be framed to give to a dear friend who is a Beatles fanatic.

How cool are these!

Rhett's brother stopped by and dug them.  He said you know you're in a Filipino household when you see  a big fork and spoon accompanied by a picture of the Last Supper. Cool.  We're half way there.

These were My TREASURE FIND.  Oh my.  I about died.  The owner was an older gentleman  who told me that his wife originally bought these 40 years ago as a set at a Home Decor Party.  Like the "Tupperware Parties" we know of today, back then they had Home Decor Parties.  I am beyond excited to evolve my find into a Jewel Galleria.  It makes it so personal and special to know the back story of the frame as I design.

Matching Frames.  Total Score.

Perfect for Christmas!

Set of 6 green beaded napkin rings.  $2.  [!!!!!]

Superman Ring anyone?

Tristen's Treasure!
