It's Tippy Tuesday!

a nifty difty way to save a little change

You know all that loose change that rolls around your handbag, or finds it's way into the pit of your car's center console?  See that little container above?  That little container originally housed Wrigley's Eclipse Sugar Free gum.

I removed the plastic covering and viola: it's now a nifty little coin holder.  A coin holder with a flip open, snap shut lid, easy to fit in the middle console of your car, the glove box, or in the cup holder, and small enough to throw in your handbag.

Today's Tippy Tuesday Tip:

Keep your nifty-difty coin holder in your car and grow a Food Fund!

Rachael Ray's Tip got me started on this one.  She calls it the "Food Fund".  She puts her loose change in a mason jar [I use my nifty used-to-be-a-gum-holder-container because it's nifty and fills fast] and when it's about full- take it in with you on your next grocery shopping trip, put the change through the Coin-Star machine and apply it to your grocery bill!  It's an easy way to make that loose change count, and shave $10-$20 off your bill.  Try it!

OR... instead of applying to your grocery tab, you know all those gift cards the supermarket sells?  Buy a Nordstroms gift card with it!  $10, $15, $20.. a few trips to the grocery store with your change container, and a few $10-20 dollar gift cards later, and you'll have a "free" Nordstroms shopping spree!  Brilliant!

my little container had $16 dollars and 45 cents in it!
