but alas, I'm taking it back

well shoot.  on my list of fashion goals is to own something chambray + own a romper. I mentioned yesterday that I fell in love with a chambray romper at H&M and bought it this past weekend.  can you imagine my delight!?  two stones, one piece of clothing.  well.  you know how you can just looooove something in the store, you bring it home, put it on, twirl around, and then your reflection in the mirror makes you stop in your tracks and stare and say: "well hot dammm.  i guess that wasn't my reflection that was lookin' so good when I tried this on at the store?!"  Well, it happens to me frequently and it happened with this romper.  I'm not saying it's not cutish, I'm just saying that it's a little more "19 year old'ish" and a lot more "maybe should have stayed in the 80's'ish", and mainly unflattering'ish.  no quotations about it.  the tags are still on it, and I'm taking it back, that's all there is to it.  I fear Rhett wouldn't be seen with me in it, as he labeled it a little "trash'ish", and for a man that rarely has a negative thing to say about my clothing, I'm taking it to heart.  but, he was a dear and took a picture, or fifteen five, of me in it cause I wanted a picture of me in my almost fashion goal score.  dang it!  no chambray and no romper.  I'm back to square one.

so i bought two rompers from h&m for my trip.
while i love them, i learned something about them while wearing them that i HATE.

you have to take the whole fricking thing off to go to the bathroom.

we all know i pee a lot. this is a problem.

Love your shoes and that yellow scarf accent. You are precious! I know I say that everytime, but I really do think it everytime! It's true! :)

The fact you look good in these pics of a romper says it all!

Rompers are unflattering to the max. And yet, you still rocked it.

That's a win in my book.

I cannot wear rompers. My legs are too long and I look like a stripper in it. Plus, they aren't long enough so I end up either showing my boobs or getting a front wedgie if you know what I mean.

i once had a black vest that i just LOVED. it wasn't made of actual fur, but almost a fringe-like fur of string all over it. And it sinched at the waist.

i wore it a couple of times.

finally, hunter busts out, "please! don't wear that ever again...you look like a monkey. i'm sorry! i'm sorry!"

it now graces the racks at goodwill.

You look GREAT in it!! But I can't blame you for taking it back because I am NOT that adventurous when it comes to fashion. PLUS I think how you feel in an outfit takes priority over how others say you look in it.

But seriously... you look great in it.

I love the IDEA of a romper, but something about the way they look on my body (...the weird crotch area); I just cannot pull them off.

Good luck with your chambray/romper (not necessarily combined) treasure hunt! :)

I am 40 years old and at the point in my soon to be saggy life that if I looked like you I jumpy ass in a romper and love ever second of it because there will be a day we can't. I like the rompers that are pants like linen material. But I can't find them anywhere. You sure do look hot my friend but if you get the money back go to old navy. They have the chambray shirts.

It looks wonderful, and I love it paired with the yellow! I also broke down and picked up chambray and a jumper this season. ;)

I think it's SO cute, and especially with the yellow scarf! HA HA, don't you LOVE when your husband says something like that? You're like, wow, it must be real bad then! But I don't think it's trash-ish, I think it's SO cute but know what you mean when you hate it on! :)

You're as beautiful as can be, and your legs are FAB, but...no no no...I can not get on the romper bandwagon, for all of the reasons you stated, plus I have the same bathroom fear as a previous commenter. :)

You are gorgeous, but I have to agree with you, something about the elastic top with the bunchy waistline just isn't all that flattering. The pics are amazing though. I hope you find what you are looking for. ;)

I'm constantly returning things (I actually just wrote about it on Monday!). I see nothing wrong with returning something if you decide you don't love it, especially if you aren't going to wear it again!

You LOOK adorable but you're right, something about this romper ISN'T quite adorable! Good luck in your quest!! and p.s., that happens to me ALL the TIME - those dressing rooms have magic mirrors

Firstly, you have great legs! Jealous! Secondly, I have a strong dislike for rompers in general- but if I didn't, I think I'd style it just like you did. You can definitely work it! Feel free to stop by my blog anytime- I host a weekly link party called "This Week the Trend" that I'd love for you to join and I'm currently offering free ad space! I hope you have a great week!

love denim. and love a romper. the yellow scarf looks awesome with it!

I don't think all rompers look 'childish'. Maybe try one with a pattern/print or even one with pants-I guess it would then be called a jumpsuit. For what it's worth I think you look hot and the yellow scarf was a great addition.
