sitting on the dock in sellwood

..i kept true to the promise to spend time basking in the sun saturday afternoon.  birdie and i went downtown to powell's and both found the books we were looking for.  by the time we were checked out, books in hand, it was approaching 6p and the west side of the river was quickly losing the sun, so we headed east to the sellwood waterfront park.  i was excited to show tristen the "beach" front.  i go in the summer, when he is in bend with his dad, and he has never seen it.  i was completely surprised to find that the beach i laid on last summer was completely below river water.  thank god for the dock.  we took our chairs and planted ourselves in the sun and rocked on the dock.  it was perfect.  we stayed until the sun went down.
